Prepares patient for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reports patient history summary. Saves provider time by helping with office procedures to include specific laboratory procedures and some surgical procedures using proper aseptic techniques.
Administers injections and medications, collects blood samples and other specimens.
Displays proficiency in working within the designated medical record, scheduling surgeries by making arrangements with the surgical center; verifying times with patients; preparing charts, and ensuring pre-admission and consent forms are completed as required. Responds timely to voice messages and phone messages.
Education: Must have High school diploma or equivalent. Must have successfully completed and graduated from a medical assistant program.
Experience: Prior experience as medical assistant is helpful.
