Performs accurate and appropriate testing or production and distribution of all products on laboratory specimens/collections according to established laboratory protocol and procedures; including reporting of results in a timely manner; following established procedures and protocols.
Performance of chart reviews, quality audit data collection, technical policy/procedure development, inspection assistance, under the direction of laboratory management.
Performance of and assistance with the training and competency assessment of technical personnel. Performance of and assistance in maintenance of computer files as directed by management.
Cross Trains in laboratory services. (Day Shift selective cross training; Evening/Nights cross training in all areas including Blood Bank and Microbiology) Maintains workflow in laboratory through proficiency in testing and maintaining work areas, supply stock, monitoring and assistance in management of inventory.
Performs laboratory quality control, including reporting discrepancies, troubleshooting according to established procedures and protocols. Takes appropriate action to assure quality results/products are provided for use by physicians, nurses, patients. Performs daily, weekly, monthly, as needed maintenance and calibrations on instruments and equipment to meet all quality requirements.
Troubleshoots instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimen/product problems using standard laboratory technique as required.
