Job Summary Overview:

Provide continuous leadership and assume accountability for the delivery of patient care within Behavioral Health Team. Responsible for overseeing operations and providing supervision within a multi-disciplinary team. Maintain a professional, competent, efficient, and financially viable emergency response team that supports the needs for psychiatric and chemical dependency assessments at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Establish and maintain information systems and data analysis of assessment and admission activity, productivity, charge capture, pre-certifications, managed care relations, and customer satisfaction. Provide direct supervision and leadership to BH clinicians. Interface and coordinate activities for patient care with Psychiatrist performing in role as Medical Director for Behavioral Health. Serve as liaison with hospital professionals and community contacts and keep abreast of community behavioral health care and regulatory standards. Participate in quality initiatives that promote Good Samaritan Medical Center as a center of excellence for healthcare services in the community.

Education/ Experience


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing ADN or BSN (BSN within 4 years of hire)

  • Master's degree in nursing or health care or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of two years experience in management or supervision of health care personnel

  • Knowledge of nursing theory, practice management, leadership

  • Five years experience in direct patient care in

    behavioral health inpatient or emergency assessment services


  • Five years nursing experience with progressive leadership responsibilities.
