Performs a variety of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radioactive materials, and provides radioactive therapy with unsealed sources.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Prepares exam room, communicates with the patient, obtains informed consent when necessary, and requests an accurate clinical history as necessary for the exam
  • Receives patients, explains method of examination, and positions patient.
  • Selects appropriate imaging techniques and protocols to complete the exam.
  • Performs IV puncture, and administers IV contrast agent when indicated.
  • Performs a variety of Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing multiple types of gamma cameras, utilizing proper injection techniques while injecting radioisotopes
  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure
  • Documents and communicates patient related information thoroughly and accurately
  • Orders and stocks supplies, cleans rooms and equipment to maintain work environment
  • Actively participates in quality initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction, highest level of patient care and workflow efficiency.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  • Attends meetings as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB registry required
  • Thorough knowledge of radiation safety
  • Knowledge of anatomy as it relates to Nuclear Medicine and skill in recognition of normal and abnormal variants
