Evaluates orientation on an annual basis by seeking input from all Nurse Leaders who have orientees each quarter, and presents proposed adjustments and rationale to Nursing Leadership.
Acquires evaluation from each orientee using a qualitative and quantitative evaluation tool; provides responses to direct report and implements change to the orientation as appropriate.
Prepares for each orientation, assuring packets/materials are ready in advance of the orientation.
Evaluates and adjusts content of orientation packet on an ongoing basis.
Serves as an Education Liaison to Nurse Leaders for Human Resources to conduct Traveler orientation, to include coordination of all presenters.
Serves as Education Liaison to Nurse Leaders for all aspects of C.N.A. Orientation.
Handles all logistics associated with new Residency cohorts to include contacting all presenters, adjusting schedules.
Maintains ongoing relationship throughout Residency
Adjusts Residency processes/materials after discussion with supervisor based on evaluation/input

Visits with each Resident/Preceptor combo at least weekly while on duty, in their area of work to determine progress/needs.

Deviates from established Residency outline with approval of Director.
Serves as point person at each Resident Touch base session, to include logistics of room set-up, leading guided session, utilizing actual examples while leading each weeks guided session.

Provides analysis and Plan of Action based on finding to nursing leadership within (2) weeks of conclusion of Needs Assessment
Plan of Action includes specific activities, in-services, etc. with proposed timeframes for activities.
Vets and gains approval of Nurse Leaders.
Executes Plan, to include coordination of all educational offerings to meet staffs needs.
Gathers DAISY nominations and processes efficiently and expeditiously
Oversees logistics of nominations and award Ceremony activities.
Conducts orientation for students and instructors new to SJB each clinical semester.
Adjusts orientation based on changes within the organization.
Conducts periodic refresher training for students and instructors at the direction of the supervisor.
Rounds in each Nursing area at least weekly, touching base with all staff on duty to identify educational needs, practice concerns, and inconsistencies of practice.
Reports findings to supervisor at 1:1 meeting and determines appropriate action to be taken based on trends and responses.
Presents findings of staff rounding and proposes recommendations to Nurse Leaders at bi-monthly touch baser meetings, or more timely to ensure follow-up.
Contacts each Nurse Leader at least once every (2) weeks to discuss staff/Leader needs, provide follow-up on old business, and determine needs.
Requests to present salient topics to Nursing Leadership Team as needed
Reviews weekly work schedule to supervisor at least one week prior to initiation or week; addresses projects to be worked on/completed and time obligations and adjusts per discussion with supervisor.
Meets established deadlines.
Assists non-Nursing areas with education as requested by supervisor.
Utilizes adult principles of learning.
Works with other departments and stays abreast of SCL and SJB Policies/Procedures to assure education materials are current at all times.
Participates in quality/performance improvement initiatives as requested.
Supports Nursing Leadership in initiatives.
Act as role model/mentor by integrating clinical practice, consultation, collaboration, leadership, education and research to practice.
Works all shifts to accommodate staff needs.
Incorporates out-or-box approach to fun and creative learning methodologies.

BSN degree from an accredited program
CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION, LICENSE

Current State of Montana Registered Nurse License
BLS upon hire
ACLS within 6 months of hire
PALS or ENPC within 9 months of hire
TNCC within 12 months of hire
Experience in education and/or demonstrated relevant education and clinical expertise in providing education to adult learners.
5 years clinical nursing experience
Experience with Microsoft Office Products
