The schedule for this position is usually every other Monday 11:00am-7:30pm, and also Tuesday-Thursday 11:00-7:30pm. Every other weekend 5:30am-2:00pm. Every Friday off unless schedule needs change.


Under occasional supervision, the cook's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:  Preparation of hot foods for all meals, integrating three areas (patient, cafeteria, and catering), and preparing appropriate amounts of foods.  Supervises dietary department when director or supervisor are not present.   Sees that patients are served the correct amount and type of food according to their diet.  Sees that the food meets the quality assurance standards and that proper sanitation standards are met.  Washes pots and pans used in cooking.  Identifies items needed to maintain level of foods and supplies to function.  Reports malfunction of equipment to plant manager and director.  Performs all other duties as assigned.

High school or GED preferred.

6 months cooking experience preferred.

Preferred:  Professional cooking skills, ability to follow instructions and work as a team member, sound decision making skills, willingness to help in any situation.  Prefer knowledge of modified diets.
