Physical Therapist - PT

This is a PRN position Supporting our Inpatient Team and occasionally assisting our Outpatient Team. Our clinic serves a diverse population and sees all types of patients.
 
Our Outpatient Physical Medicine and Rehab department consists of PT’s, OTR’s, SLP’s, massage therapists and rehabilitation aides.  PTs conduct one-hour evaluations for new patients and 30-45 minute treatment sessions for returning patients.  One hour of documentation time is built into the schedule (30 minutes before lunch and 30 minutes at the end of the day).  We are open Monday-Friday and our hours are typically 6:30 am-6:30 pm.  We treat a wide variety of acute and chronic orthopedic and neurological diagnoses for patients of all ages (we have therapists who specialize in pediatrics).  PT treatments are typically a blend of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.
Typical (but not all inclusive) diagnoses and impairments include:
•Orthopedic – hips, knees, spine, total/partial joint replacement, fractures, amputations, hands, upper extremities.
•Neurological – stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome, brain tumor, traumatic brain injury (primarily strokes)
•Sensory impairments – decreased vision or tactile sensations
•Auditory impairments – decreased hearing
•Cognitive impairments – memory, judgment, problem solving, safety awareness
•Perceptual impairments – depth perception, spatial relationships
•Vestibular dysfunction
•Swallowing and speech impairments
•General debilitating medical conditions, including post-surgical procedures
 
The Physical Therapist carries out physical therapy evaluations, program planning, and treatments for hospital inpatients and outpatients.  He/She participates in patient education, department budget and equipment planning, program development and department charting, charging, and scheduling activities.  He/She works independently with limited supervision.  Performs all other duties assigned.

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy
  • Knowledge and theory of physical therapy practice as necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area
  • Current license to practice physical therapy in the State of Colorado or a temporary license or permit to practice physical therapy in the State of Colorado
  • BCLS certification required (CPR)
