Registered Nurse - Charge RN
Meets job accountability standards for specific area. Demonstrates leadership qualities. Serves as an expert clinical role model for other personnel within the department and throughout the hospital. Shows initiative. Actively participates in hospital activities aimed at achieving the mission of PVMC and improving the image of PVMC and the image of Nursing. Shares information with the staff in the Emergency Department with good interpersonal skills. Strives to achieve growth in management, leadership, nursing knowledge and skills. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: Current active Colorado RN license required; ACLS, TNCC and ENPC are required within 6 months of employment. NIHSS is required within 3 months of employment. PALS is strongly suggested. CPR required by completion of the unit-specific orientation and before working independently.
Experience: 3 years Emergency Department experience and 1year management or supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: Is competent in beginning management skills. Possesses excellent clinical skills, which utilize current and up-to-date knowledge in the implementation of these. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills. This job may require the employee to be responsible for the assessment, treatment, or care of patients of all ages, including neonate, child, adolescent, and geriatric. Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior, and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient.
