Under limited supervision, the responsibilities of the Nutritional Services Aide II/Cashier include but are not limited to the following: Preparing cold foods, washing dishes, keeping records, answering telephones, keeping Nutritional Services area and equipment clean, delivering trays and food to patients and catering customers, and serving and cashiering in the cafeteria as assigned. Each person must be able to meet sanitation standards, maintain high standards of appearance, taste, texture, and temperature of food served. He/she must be able to contribute to the control of inventory and help to maintain the stock of foods. He/she helps the registered dietitian to evaluate the nutritional status of patients by reporting to him/her if the patient is not eating well, which foods and nourishments patients seem to dislike, etc.
The Nutritional Services Aide II/Cashier must be able to judge the proper amount of food to be prepared to meet the needs of patients, cafeteria, and catering needs. Performs cashiering duties as needed. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
Experience: Prefer some previous food service experience.
