Performs echocardiograms, stress echoes, and TEE’s ordered by physicians.
Ability to access, manage and update patient medical records through Hospital Electronic Medical Record Information System. Records echocardiograms, stress echoes, and TEE’s for physician interpretation. Performs 2D, M-mode, Color flow doppler, Pulsed and continuous wave doppler. Demonstrates responsibility for diagnostic procedures, requiring a sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology so that independent selection and modification of technical factors may produce optimal results. Submits preliminary interpretations as indicated and notifies physician of any significant gross abnormalities recognized during the test. Reports all life threatening abnormalities to physician. Operates ultrasound equipment and is familiar with electrical safety and hazards. Seeks continuing education and remains current in advances in the field of echocardiology.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of an education program through an accredited facility; or combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ARDMS or RCS required.
BLS required within 3 months of hire
