Kudos: Saint Joseph Hospital offers excellence across the continuum of care for patients.
Plans, develops, and conducts exercise and educational programs and provides clinical and therapeutic counseling for patients and families in the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs utilizing the skills of physical activity and psychological assessment, evaluation and judgment. Assumes primary responsibility for readiness to do physical activity and exercise prescription for patients in the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs.

Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and interdepartmentally to facilitate that department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Admission and discharge of outpatient cardiopulmonary patients.
Incorporates division protocols for specific patient populations in planning practice and documentation per ESJH report card.
Patient assessment to include, physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, educational and other risk assessments of the individual patient.
Provides and coordinates safe patient care and promotes a safe environment of care.
Delegates as appropriate.
Provides patient and family education.
Care of both inpatient and outpatient requiring cardiac and pulmonary education and/or rehabilitation
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology
One year experience in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology
ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification and/or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist

LIFTING REQUIREMENTS :
Medium work. Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
Addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include such other responsibilities, and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon SCL Healthcare needs or requirements.
