Description

Summary:

The Limited Scope Medical Assistant (LSMA) works under the supervision of the Practice Manager or Back Office Lead, and under the clinical direction of their assigned Provider. This position also has accountability for clinical competency and compliance to the Nursing Practice Manager. This position assists with patient examinations and treatments, performs various tests, maintains medical equipment and supplies, performs x-rays, and maintains the x-ray equipment. The LSMA assists in managing patient flow, both in office and via telephone interaction, such that their assigned provider is enabled to be informed, organized and efficient with patient care. Transfer to sites may be necessary from time to time. Performs exemplary customer service by actions such as smiling, friendly phone manner, pleasant greetings to patients, and assistance with healthcare concerns that match the customer service policy.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

� Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants

  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • Limited Scope Certification

� Maintains annual radiology educational requirements

  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 6-12 months in a primary care office

� Minimum 6-12 months experience in a setting utilizing the limited scope certificate

� New graduates will be considered if they have precepted within an EMG site.
